Who We Are
Welcome to Exiles of the Sun (EOS), a guild in Everquest 2 originally formed in the city of Freeport. EOS has its roots in the gaming community of refugeegamers (rG). The founding members shared time together playing games other than EQ2 and have carried that common bond to EOS. We are fortunate to have an infrastructure that is heavily supported and maintained by rG, and have used that to our advantage in creating a guild that adds to our members' enjoyment of the game. We are always happy to welcome new members who share our core principles and are willing to join us in exploring, conquering, and experiencing Norrath.
As a casual guild, we view all parts of the game as equal. Whether you're into questing, tradeskills, raiding, alts, etc., EOS strives to be a guild that welcomes a wide variety of playstyles. We raid top tier content as part of a raiding alliance. Due to our casual nature and focus on all aspects of the game, we don't pretend to be on the same level as any raiding guild. We raid to the best of our ability given the members within our alliance, but "beating" the raid content is not how we define success or enjoyment within EOS.
Code of Conduct
Members are expected to review and follow the general guidelines of the rG community. In a nutshell, those boil down to creating a "punk-free" environment. We play the game for enjoyment, and any action by a member that infringes upon the enjoyment of others will be frowned upon. Immature behavior and inappropriate actions in-game are not welcomed.
Rules- We are guild of mature individuals who choose to spend our entertainment time in the world of Norrath. As such, spamming, over use of "low" language, l33t speech and other childish behavior will not be tolerated. Have fun, but don't ruin it for others.
- Joining -- Any current rG Member is welcomed to the guild. For newcomers, we encourage you to get to know a few of us in-game, then petition on the forums.
- Looting -- In keeping with our casual play style, loot will generally be done on a need before greed (NBG) basis.
- Raiding -- We take the approach that a raid is successful by being prepared and disciplined. Leaders will be responsible for making the raid as smooth as possible, and members are responsible for knowing their roles and not jeopardizing the raid. EQ2 emphasizes skills over numbers, and we expect our raids to reflect that. Raid attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory.
- Prestige -- While we would like to climb the guild ladder, our focus is on a casual environment where members can log on and find others to share their adventures with. Patrons are encouraged to complete writs at a comfortable pace, without feeling like they are punching a clock.
- If a member is disciplined within any other rG gaming group (e.g. banned from an rG Counter-Strike server), similar consequences will apply within EOS.
- It is a game. Just a game. Don't let it interfere with real life. It's not a race, not a job, not a requirement. Have fun with the game doing whatever works for you, and that's all we ask. Well, that and all of the above stuff.
Guild hierarchy
In brief, the Guildmaster and Council members will be primarily responsible for making policy decisions affecting the guild. Officers will be the "implementers" of guild policies and rules. Members will be responsible for keeping the Leadership in line.
The Hierarchy is as follows:
Humpty Dumpty - Princess - Goo Lord - Senior Member - Members
